Absa Bank Kenya ceo Mr Abdi Mohamed has been recognized for excellence in brand building and leadership by the prestigious 2024 Africa Brand Leadership Awards.
Absa tapped Mr Mohamed to head the Bank in 2023, an insider who before the Ceo role served as the Managing Director of Absa Bank Tanzania and acting Managing Executive for Retail and Business Banking, Africa Regional Operations.
Mr Mohamed who took over the reins of the lender just one year ago has steered the bank through transition from the Barclays brand, to Absa, gaining market share and recognition in the country.

Brand Africa awarded the best local and global brands admired by Kenyans from the 2024 Brand Africa 100, conducted continent-wide in collaboration with GeoPoll and Kantar.
Absa bank CEO won the African Brand Leadership Award in the Business Leader category, where he stood out for his role in building and growing an African brand.
The High school math teacher from Garissa, has risen through the ranks in Absa, where he continues to mentor his team, using his leadership style to transform the lender into a new growth strategy to win market share and to solidify Absaโs position on the continent.
The new boss has delivered on profitability in his first year in charge and looks set to grow the bank's books in its pursuit for market share, especially in retail and the small business market.
