Kenyan companies are worried about the implication of a protracted political tension and the challenge of having top state officials working at cross purposes.
There is already a strained working relationship between the President and his Deputy and even if DP Gachagua were to survive, it is highly unlikely that the two leaders in government will have a smooth working relationship.

The differences have escalated to allegations of poisoning amids growing security concerns over abductions and extra judicial killings.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) Chair Samuel Kobia has also raised concerns about the potential threat to national cautioning that the impeachment process could lead to conflicts, especially between communities in Mount Kenya and other regions of the country.
